  • The Transplant Trekkers are a community of organ donors, recipients, transplant professionals, and supporters, and our mission is to familiarize the public with living donation by engaging them in custom virtual treks while educating and inspiring them along the way. In short, our goal is to put transplant on the map!

  • Virtual trekking allows participants from all over the country—or world!—to contribute their individual efforts at home to an online, digital trek to interesting locations and events. For the Trek Through The Last Frontier, participants post their personal progress as miles in a tracking app, My Virtual Mission (MVM). Trek Through The Last Frontier follows a virtual route for 7-weeks from sunny Melbourne to Perth. Trek progress is visible using Google Earth on the My Virtual Mission app.

  • Transplant Trekkers is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about organ donation. We believe the more people we can reach with our message, the shorter the organ waitlist will become. Our hope is that people from all walks of life join us on our trek to learn, spread the word about organ donation, and have fun!

  • It’s easy! Sign up here—the trek gets underway July 12th. After signing up with us, you will be directed to click a link to register on My Virtual Mission. If you have previously created an account with MVM or Conqueror Challenges, you can just log in without creating a new account.

  • The Trek Through The Last Frontier costs only $10, payable to My Virtual Mission. This fee covers administrative and platform fees.

  • Along the trek, you receive virtual postcards, access to the Transplant Trekkers Facebook page to post pictures and tales of your trek, a real-life Google map view of where we are on the route, a map to track progress, and at the end, a virtual badge of completion!

  • My Virtual Mission is the fitness platform we partner with to run and track our trek. Transplant Trekkers designed the Trek Through The Last Frontier—the information you see, the route you take—but you post your miles on the My Virtual Mission fitness app or their website.

  • You can sign up for the trek and track your activities through the My Virtual Mission app available on Google Play or in the Apple store. You can also track via their website at myvirtualmission.com.

  • Yes! Through the My Virtual Mission app participants can sync a variety of fitness apps such as GoogleFit, Apple Health, Fitbit and more. Once you’ve signed up with My Virtual Mission, you just need to log in to your account, go to the main menu, select “My Connections” and follow the instructions to connect to the app of your choice.

  • Yes! You can do any kind of activity you choose, from cheerleading to yoga. My Virtual Mission provides an easy-to-use conversion chart to help you convert the time you spend gardening into miles. You can find the conversion chart here or access it on the My Virtual Mission App or website.

  • Yes! We encourage you to create a team with your friends and family—especially those who may not know much about transplant. After all, the mission of Transplant Trekkers is to get the word out about organ donation! When you create a team, you become the team captain.

  • We'd like to cap our teams at 15 people. Have more friends who are interested in trekking? Suggest they form another team! The more the merrier.

  • Absolutely. When you join you will simply be a team of one.

  • The Trek Through The Last Frontier, launches on July 12, 2023 and will wrap up August 30, 2023. That gives you seven weeks to complete the trek.
